Club Weekend Away Saturday April 14,   (date to be confirmed)
Subject to final confirmation of details, here is the itinerary (all timings approximate):
Saturday 14 April Travel by Blakes Coaches. Pick ups @ Copplestone 0600, Barnstaple Cross 0605, Crediton 0610, Cadbury Cross 0625, Sampford Peverell 0700,
1030 - arrive at The Waterworks Museum, Hereford
1200 - depart for Museum of Carpet, Kidderminster (Coach to remain in Kidderminster for visit; passengers have option of remaining for longer visit at museum or going by the Severn Valley Railway heritage steam train to Bridgenorth, via a journey break at the Highley Engine House museum, arriving at 1630. Coach probably arrives earlier with remaining passengers from Kidderminster. Passengers walk to/from Bridgenorth Cliff Railway.
1745 (approx) Depart for our base at Buckatree Hall Hotel, Telford TF6 5AL (about 20 minutes).
Sunday 15 April Depart hotel to Coleham Pumping Station, Shrewsbury for 1000 start there.
1130 Depart to Black Country Museum, Dudley
1700 Depart for return to hotel (about 40 minutes)
Monday 16 April Check out and depart hotel for RAF Museum, Cosford for 1000 opening.
1130 Depart for British Motor Museum, Gaydon
? Depart for return to Devon (about 3 hours)
The cost will be £140, with a single supplement of £30. Insurance £15. Lunches, drinks and admission costs not included. Admission costs are a separate charge of £36.40 for adults, £34.40 for Seniors. Steam trip on Severn Valley Railway £17.50 (optional - not included. Dartmoor Prison Museum Friday May 4,  2 PM
In addition to the museum itself, there will be a guided tour of the memorials to the French and American prisoners of war who were incarcerated at Dartmoor between 1809 and 1816. Many thousands died there. Subject to confirmation, our tour will be led by a former shepherd on the prison farm who will talk to us about the days when the prison had extensive farming activities. Cost : £4 per person. Limited numbers. There will also be an opportunity to visit the redundant and unique Church of St Michael, built between 1812-14 by French and American prisoners of war. Tiverton two-parter! Friday June 15,  CANCELLED
As a formal Club Visit, this event has been CANCELLED due to lack of interest. It may possibly be re-visited with members going along just as members of the public. The day would have been in two optional parts, with a horse-drawn barge canal cruise in the morning (cost around £10) preceding a tour of the Tiverton Museum of Rural Life in the afternoon (cost £4.50).
